Twenty-four games into the NHL season and the Red Wings fan base have several reasons to be optimistic. No reason is bigger than the fact that they have some phenomenal rookies. Lucas Raymond has taken the league by storm and was named the Rookie of the Month for November. He’s the only rookie to currently lead his team in scoring, as he has 10 goals and 12 assists in 24 games.

NHL22 also acknowledged his performance, increasing his rating from a 77 to an 84. Prior to Raymond winning Rookie of the Month, Moritz Seider won the award for October. In case you’re wondering, it’s not everyday that the same team has a different player win the Rookie of the Month award in consecutive months. The last time it happened was back in the 2016/17 season when Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner accomplished the same feat.

Not a bad duo to share a rare feat with.

And hey, don’t forget about Alex Nedjelkovic who technically still qualifies as a rookie.
