For many, the death of George Floyd was the last straw.

Though it’s horrific that even a single Black life had to be lost to police brutality and systemic racism, upon the death of George Floyd and in the midst of a global pandemic, the world finally put its foot down. The Black Lives Matter movement was in full swing, and people didn’t want empty words; they wanted real, tangible change.

There were lots of statements made at the time condemning racism. That was the easy part. Now comes the hard part. Organizations who made statements are being held accountable for their words, and have to come forward with ways that they’re actually going to be apart of social change.

Judging by their statement today, the Denver Broncos have done the work.

The team took to Twitter to share all the tangible steps they’re taking towards change, and it’s a really encouraging list.

In addition to this encouraging thread, the Broncos also posted an inspiring video about the cause.

The team’s President also reinforced the message.

Hats off to the Broncos for taking real steps towards change. We hope many others follow suit.
