Yesterday, Zdeno Chara shocked the entire hockey world when he announced that his time as Boston Bruins captain was over, and that he’d be joining the Washington Capitals for the upcoming season.
Raise your hand if you didn’t see that one coming at all! Yep, us either.
Right after the news broke, a few of Chara’s new teammates shared some hilarious photos to welcome him to Washington.
Honestly, we don’t blame them. We’d be massively relieved to find out we got to play with Chara and not against him anymore.
Today, the Caps took a page out of Oshie and Wilson’s book, and posted a similar photoset welcoming Big Z to Washington.
We’d definitely rather line up with him than against him, so we completely understand this reaction, and we can’t wait to see Big Z as a Capital.
