It's only fitting that on the night that the Vancouver Canucks say goodbye to two of the best players in franchise history that their fanbase was rewarded with the biggest 50/50 jackpot in history.
Thursday, the Canucks hosted the Coyotes in what was Daniel and Henrik Sedin's final game in Vancouver. But while fans were thinking about what they had lost, they were also reminded of what could potentially be gained: over $1 million in the 50/50 jackpot.
So why is the jackpot so high? According to the Canucks, the team had a number of unclaimed jackpots from earlier in the season, so the pot started at $400,000.
Imagine that...go to the game to say farewell to two franchise legends, and you get to also leave with a few hundred thousand dollars in your pocket (bank account).
