Ahhh the Teddy Bear Toss, one of the greatest traditions in sports! For those that don’t know, it’s a way of gathering Teddy Bears for charity, allowing hockey fans to toss Teddy Bears onto the ice when the home team scores a goal.

The Calgary Hitmen. Well… They do a pretty good one…

As you may have guessed, the Teddy Bears weren’t going to fly in the arena this season. Because of the global pandemic, no fans are allowed to attend games. Unfortunately, that means no Teddy Bears either.

Unwilling to give up the tradition, the Hitmen decided to get creative this season. Along with some other teams, they decided to put together a drive-thru toss. In order to make the idea extra special, they had a full “Teddy Bear Lane” setup, complete with tons of Christmas-y things.

Even Santa Claus and the Grinch showed up!

18,063 teddies! We’d call this one a huge success.
