First, it was Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, now Knicks superfan Spike Lee could be heading from the Big Apple to Brooklyn.

Durant and Irving, the Nets' key off-season acquisitions, were, of course, rumoured to land with the Knicks back in the summer, but shocked the basketball world when they went to the other New York-based NBA franchise.

If the Nets once again get their way, they could be poaching none other than Spike Lee to join the Brooklyn fandom. On Monday night inside Madison Square Garden, Lee was furious when he was told to enter through the VIP/celebrity door, rather than the team employee door that he's used for 20 years.

Video surfaced of the incident before the team had to issue a PR statement essentially calling the legendary film producer a liar. Lee went on First Take with Stephen A. Smith to tell his side of the story, effectively calling the Knicks liars, before the tea, had to issue another PR statement.

Through all the childish drama, the Nets sat back with an eagle eye and waited for the perfect moment to start their recruitment to get Lee to join KD, Kyrie and the rest of the club in Brooklyn.

Although they since deleted the tweet, we can't help but laugh at Brooklyn's stance in all of this drama. After all, they do go hard.

Just imagine the PR scrutiny if Lee left New York and actually linked up courtside in Brooklyn.

Lee confirmed that the Nets did reach out to him, although any change in fandom won't be happening anytime soon.

He will, however, be donating his remaining tickets away and will not be attending anymore Knicks games this season.

Just another day in the always high-functioning franchise.

Lee is said to have spent roughly $300,000 a year in Knicks tickets, and has dropped nearly $10 million in tickets since becoming a Knicks fans over 30 years ago.
