This past season, the Chicago Blackhawks started their ‘Our Rinks’ campaign, and it turned out to be a pretty big success.

One of the main parts of the initiative was to influence Chicago kids to get out and play hockey wherever they could, even if it wasn’t on a sheet of ice.

Now, the Blackhawks are taking things to the next level and are bringing an outdoor roller hockey rink to Edison Park in Chicago.

According to an article written by dnainfo.com’s Alex Nitkin, the rink was funded through a donation from the Chicago Blackhawks and should be opened to the public by the end of the summer.

The rink will be 75 feet wide and 175 feet long, which is just short of an NHL regulation size rink, and will be surfaced with a special court exclusively for roller blades.
