After a very short, very brief hiatus (come on guys, it’s only been 2 years), everyone's favourite show returns - IT’S THE BARDOWN SHOWDOWN. WOOOO!!!!

For those who are new to the show - and for our returning listers who might have forgotten over the last two years - here is how this works. Our three contestants, the talented Corwin, the amazing Luca, and the Squid Jesse, will compete in three competitions. For each event, the winner gets 100 points, 2nd place gets 50 points, and the loser gets a big fat doughnut (0). At the end of the three events, the contestant with the most points is crowned the ultimate BarDown Showdown Champion. Now, as the great Bruce Buffer would say, “IT’S TIMEEEEEE” for the 2024 BarDown Showdown with everyone's favourite host, DZ!

That first challenge looked BRUTAL! I can tell you right now I would’ve been lying in that corner with Luca in about 4 minutes. I mean, 10 minutes is crazy. Not even the pros stay out on the ice that long—the NHL record for the longest shift is 6:02 (Jack Hughes)—and he doesn’t make YouTube videos all day.

Now, that second challenge … was quite something. I guess it’s finally safe to say that no one at BarDown is the next Martin Brodeur. The highlight of this challenge, though, had to be that Jesse didn’t know the difference between aphrodisiac and ambidextrous - someone teach him before it’s too late!

A huge shout out to special guest Ryan Ungerman for an outstanding performance in the third challenge—he showed the guys how it’s done!

So that does it for the BarDown Showdown. Do you think you could have won the competition (of course you do)? What events should we try next time? Sound off in the comments.

Oh, and one last thing…
