We’re just over a week away from the start of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia and soccer fans around the world are getting ready for the biggest tournament in the sport in many different ways.
The tournament includes only the best of the best, so fans will be tuning in from all over even if their country isn’t actually playing. You’ll definitely recognize the superstars from leagues such as Serie A, the Premier League and La Liga, but Major League Soccer fans should recognize even more superstars as there will be 19 MLS players heading to Russia to represent their country.
Here’s a breakdown of all the MLS players heading overseas and the countries they’ll be representing.
There will be 12 MLS clubs represented at this year’s tournament with Los Angeles FC leading the way with three representatives, while five other squads are sending two players. Out of all the countries playing this year Panama and Costa Rica will have the most MLS players on their rosters with six apiece.
