We’re no strangers to goalie masks that nod to previous franchise icons, but Thatcher Demko isn’t trying to show love to just one player. Nah.
We imagine he pointed up at the rafters at Rogers Arena and told his mask artist, “I want all of them.” Demko’s new mask shows love to the Canucks’ (soon-to-be) six retired numbers, including the Sedins, as well as the team’s Ring of Honour inductees.
Just between us, we think the layout of this mask is a little chaotic, but it’s all coming from a good place and it’s especially fitting for the Canucks’ 50th anniversary.
Of course, Demko is no stranger to rocking sweet masks.
