Terry Bradshaw’s NFL career was cut short due to lingering injuries but he certainly experienced a lot of success during the time he did have in the league.
At the time of his retirement, Bradshaw owned pretty much every single Steelers quarterback record and had four Super Bowl titles, two Super Bowl MVP awards and a league MVP award to his name.
Before the 1983 season, which ended up being his last, Bradshaw checked into a Louisiana hospital to get surgery on his arm and made up a name to hide his identity. Little did he know the name he dropped is the name of the person who went on to beat his Super Bowl records.
Bradshaw wanted to fly under the radar in the hospital so he checked in using the name ‘Tom Brady’.
It’s one thing to go with a fake name that ends up being the name of someone in the spotlight later in life, but it’s another to make up a fake name for yourself that ends up being the name of the person to surpass you in the record books.
