Novak Djokovic was looking to go undefeated this year, but that run came to an end early into his 4th Round match against Pablo Carreño Busta on Sunday afternoon.
After accidentally hitting a linesperson in the neck with a ball, Djokovic was defaulted from the US Open and was handed his first loss of the season.
The linesperson had to leave the court, which eventually led to the ruling to default Djokovic. Considering it was his first loss of the year and received it the way he did, there were all sorts of different reactions from the tennis community.
Pablo Carreño Busta will now play the winner of the David Goffin and Denis Shapovalov match.
