Taylor Hall has never made the playoffs in his NHL career, which few would have predicted after he was drafted first overall by the Edmonton Oilers.
The Oilers made the playoffs for the first time in a decade last year, which also happened the first season in Hall’s career that he wasn’t on their team. Some obviously placed blame on Hall for the team’s lack of playoff success, but he’s put up stellar numbers throughout his career. While we’re sure he takes some of the blame for the lack of success, his explanation was simpler when asked about it today.
Things are looking up for Hall, though. The Devils have a nice cushion in a playoff position and the Oilers have returned to the NHL’s basement. It appears he’s having a lot more fun playing in New Jersey, something he confirmed with a quote that is sure to rub salt in the wound for Edmonton.
