Every NBA Finals game is a spectacle beyond the actual game itself and there are always celebrities and athletes from other sports at every Finals game.
Thursday night in Toronto, for example, a ton of hockey players were in attendance for Game 1 between the Raptors and Warriors, and it wasn't just Leafs players taking in the action. Former teammates Taylor Hall and Jordan Eberle were at the game and on Friday, Hall had some incredible praise for the NBA.
Before you say "shots fired", Hall wants you to know he wasn't taking shots at the NHL.
The NBA is unlike any other league in the sense that success is driven by superstars, and even stars on losing teams still get a ton of attention because the league invests in and builds up its stars.
That's not to say the NHL doesn't do that, but as Hall mentioned, the NBA has so many advantages over other leagues and that's part of the reason why the visibility is "through the roof." There's a reason celebrities are spotted at NBA games more than any other sport. Basketball truly transcends the sports world and that fact is on display for the world to see even more during the Finals.
