For the fifth time in nine years, the team who Taylor Hall plays for will have the first overall pick in the NHL Entry Draft.
The New Jersey Devils won the NHL Draft Lottery, moving up two spots from their 11.5 percent chances, earning the first overall selection for the second time in three years.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Devils sent out a tongue-in-cheek tweet about the team winning the lottery, and low and behold, it actually came to fruition.
If you flip Taylor Hall's No. 9 over, it becomes Jack Hughes' No. 6. Mind. Blown.
You may recall Hall had tweeted about the Draft Lottery in the past, and before the 2019 edition kicked off, the reigning NHL MVP sent.
And after it was determined they'd have the top pick in the draft, Hall sent issued out a fantastic follow-up tweet.
Since 2010 after the Oilers selected Hall first overall, the team he's been on at the date of the draft picked with the following selections:
2010 - 1st - EDM- Taylor Hall
2011 - 1st - EDM - Ryan Nugent-Hopkins
2012 - 1st - EDM - Nail Yakupov
2013 - 7th - EDM - Darnell Nurse
