The NHL Trade Deadline has come and past, and we now know the extent of landscape-changing moves that were made. While all the trades are now in the books and the “winners” and “losers” of trade deadline day have been determined, it’s time to see how the moves translate onto the ice.

In the case of Taylor Hall and David Rittich, there’s an extra juicy caveat to their debuts.

The long-anticipated trade of Taylor Hall was finally made, and it was the Boston Bruins that ended up with the winning bid. This, of course, may not have been the highest bid, but will a no-trade clause in play it’s what Sabres’ GM Kevyn Adams decided was best under the circumstances.

Rittich, on the other hand, was from the Calgary Flames to the Toronto Maple Leafs where he’ll immediately slot in as the backup goaltender while Frederik Andersen is unable to play.

In a fun little twist of fate, Hall and Rittich’s first game in a new uniform comes against their former team.

We are very stoked about this entertaining coincident. Interestingly, it was Anders Bjork – who was involved in the return for Taylor Hall – who was in on the first goal between the four teams by picking up an assist on Colin Miller’s 1st period goal.

Buckle up, we’re in for some fun tonight.
