With 2018 baseball season about to kick off, the hype around the sports world is starting to build with Opening Day approaching on Thursday.
The Tampa Bay Lightning are doing their part in promoting the return of the sport, as they wore the Tampa Bay Rays baby blue uniforms to honour the Bolts' 25th- anniversary as a franchise during warm-up prior to their game against the Arizona Coyotes on Monday night.
The Bolts spent three years playing in the Rays home at Tropicana Field when it was called the ThunderDome.
The speciality uniform features a ThunderDome patch saluting the team, as well as a patch highlighting Rays 20th anniversary season.
To this date, the Lighting still hold the record for most fans in attendance (28,183) at Tropicana Field when they hosted the Flyers In Game 4 the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals on April 23, 1996.
The Rays will return honour their friends the Lightning on Friday's game versus the Red Sox where Lightning rounder Phil Esposito will throw out the ceremonial first pitch.
Following the game, the jerseys will be auctioned off, with proceeds benefitting the Lightning Foundation and the Tampa Baseball Museum at the Al Lopez House.
