Steve Smith Sr. talked a lot of trash on the field during his NFL career but he was able to back it up every single year. The five-time Pro Bowler inked a deal with the NFL Network following his retirement from football and he made sure to take his trash talking skills over to the TV side of the business.
The 2005 NFL Comeback Player of the Year sat down with Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield on Thursday afternoon. Smith asked the 2018 first overall pick what position he would play other than quarterback and his answer brought out the best from the former NFL receiver.
Mayfield probably wasn’t expecting to get roasted during his interview with Smith, but it happened and he did a pretty good job holding his own considering the former Oklahoma quarterback is pretty outspoken himself.
It was all just fun and games, though, as Smith shared the portion of the interview on his own Twitter account with the following caption.
“The healthy and lighter side of this business! If we can’t laugh and joke w/ourselves then we miss the entire point. Great young man in @bakermayfield and a great pick for the @Browns #Agent89”
