If anyone knows a good 3-point shooter, it's Warriors head coach Steve Kerr.

The eight-time NBA Champion (five as a player and three as a coach) owns the highest 3-point field goal percentage in NBA history and has coached two of the game's best 3-point shooters in Steph Curry and Klay Thompson.

Speaking with the New York Times, Kerr detailed the difference between his effectiveness from when he played versus how Steph and Klay operate on the floor now.

“One thing I really learned from Steph and Klay is that they generate rhythm before the shot. I was really a catch-and-shoot guy,” Kerr said, adding, of Curry: “A lot of times he will build the rhythm for his shot with the dribble. So there’s a flow to his shot that I don’t remember anyone else having in the past.”

Kerr went onto note that shooters today need to be able to create more space for themselves on the floor in order to get more open looks. The former Bull and Spur went onto compare current Canadian player Jamal Murray to his Steph's style of shooting and how it differs from Thompson's.

“Jamal Murray is on his way to becoming one of those guys. He shoots it, catch-and-shoot, or off the dribble, like Steph.”

“If you want to think more of a ‘Roboshooter’ category, like Klay, Khris Middleton. Beautiful, same shot over and over again.”

This post-season, Steph Curry is currently shooting 38.3 percent from behind the arc, while Klay Thompson is shooting 41.1 percent.

Kevin Durant, although he's played fewer games, is shooting 41.6 percent, while Murray shot 33.7 percent in two rounds.
