The people who operate the Dallas Stars’ jumbotron on game nights have been known to have some fun at the expense of the opposing team by taking friendly jabs at the franchise and their fans throughout the game.
Monday night was just another night as the office for the Stars’ crew as the Ottawa Senators were in town for their only visit of the season. With the home team up 1-0 early on in the second period, that’s when they took their shot.
The staff decided to take a moment and honour the top five all-time greatest Senators, only the list had nothing to do with hockey and included nothing but Star Wars characters.
This is just one of many jabs the crew has taken at the opposing team in recent years and they don’t plan on stopping anytime soon.
However, the Sens ended up getting the last laugh on Monday night as they left Dallas with their 23rd victory of the season courtesy of Erik Karlsson in overtime.
