The St. Louis Blues enter a new NHL season as defending Stanley Cup champions for the first time in franchise history and the city is making sure to ride the wave while there’s still one to ride.
On Monday afternoon the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department revealed that its officers will wear commemorative badges throughout the 2019-20 season in honour of the Blues’ first-ever Stanley Cup title.
As a way to say ‘thank you’ to all of the officers who put in all the hours to keep the city safe and under control during their run, the Blues, the NHL, and the Police Commissioner’s Office teamed up to create commemorative Patrolman, Supervisor and Commander badgers that include the team’s Stanley Cup Champions crest.
All officers who worked during the Stanley Cup run, including the K-9 unit, will be allowed to wear the new badge for the course of the 2019-20 season beginning October 2.
