Spike Lee provided a truly out-of-nowhere cameo during the NBA Draft

Spike Lee is one of those celebrities that is essentially tied to the game of basketball. The filmmaker, who can often be seen sitting courtside at New York Knicks games, is outspoken about his fandom, and even about the Knicks struggles.

With the 2020 NBA Draft unfolding on Wednesday, you can bet that Lee was tuned in to figure out who the Knicks would be selecting as their future young star. We didn’t get any immediate reaction when Obi Toppin was drafted 8^th overall, but we unexpectedly got a reaction later on in the draft when Cole Anthony was selected to the Orlando Magic.

Lee has family ties with Anthony, as his wife has worked with Cole’s mother in the past. In other words, don’t worry Knicks fans! Spike isn’t abandoning you for the Magic.
