One of the sweetheart stories of the World Cup so far has been that of the Mexican national team that is advancing into the Round of 16. The Mexican squad beat Germany in their first match of the tournament, which paved the way for the defending champion German squad to eventually be eliminated. Who was able to put the final nail in the coffin? None other than South Korea.

South Korea will not be advancing alongside the Mexicans, but if it were up to Mexico they would be piggybacking their new best friend into the elimination in the midst of song and dance. With all kinds of stories emerging showing Korean fans being treated like royalty by Mexican fans, it’s unsurprising that the official beer sponsor of the Mexican national team decided to get involved.

Estrella Jalisco delivered a ton of beer to the South Korean embassy as thanks for such a great performance. They even attached a thank you note to the mountain of beer.

This is the latest in a string of awesome celebrations in what has become the funniest nation-wide friendship of the World Cup.

With South Korea now eliminated, we think it’s pretty clear who most South Koreans will be cheering for.
