Things went from bad to worse for a skier attempting to catch a scenic run in Sheep Mountain, Alaska.
The thrill-seeker was delivered at the top of a mountain by helicopter but landed on a patch of rocks upon landing. After lying in the snow likely feeling somewhat helpless and defeated, his ski dislodged from his boot and proceeded to get away at a surprisingly high speed.
Now that right there ladies and gentlemen is a skier’s worst nightmare come true.
Luckily this daredevil was wise enough to bring a communication device with him, and was at least able to catch the blooper on film for others to see. He isn’t the first to lose his footing in the middle of nowhere on a pair of skiis either, as others have suffered similar fates. Here’s a look at some thrilling wipeouts captured from way up in the clouds.
Safe to say this skier is lucky to have gotten away with just a missing ski.
If you’re planning on taking a heli-ski trip, let this serve as a lesson to ensure your landing spot is rock-free. Otherwise you might find your ski a mile away at the bottom of the mountain.
