It didn’t take Carson Wentz very long to become a fan favourite in Philadelphia.
By the end of the Raleigh, North Carolina’s rookie season, pretty much every single Eagles fan owned a No. 11 Wentz jersey and dubbed the state ‘Wentzylvania’.
Although he wasn’t the starting quarterback for the team when they captured their first Super Bowl in franchise history, Eagles fans still treat him as if he was the one who led them to victory over the Patriots in Super Bowl LII.
On Saturday afternoon, the former second overall draft pick was in attendance at the Philadelphia 76ers game and he got the crowd pumped up beforehand by ringing the team’s ceremonial bell.
The 76ers have honoured other Eagles players including LeGarrette Blount, Ronald Darby and the entire offensive line, and now Wentz can add his name to the list.
