So, Sheldon Keefe is getting pretty popular around Toronto, yeah? Since he took over for Mike Babcock, the Leafs have a 4-1-0 record, improving after their overtime win against the Sabres on Saturday.
That game also marks a win for Keefe in his first home game behind the Leafs bench, and it’s especially meaningful as a homecoming for the Brampton native. The crowd, loving the Leafs’ play of late, definitely showed their support for Keefe.
Another member of the Leafs is familiar with that feeling of returning to Toronto to play for the home crowd — John Tavares offered his own insight into what the support from Leafs Nation is like.
Despite Keefe’s homecoming, the Leafs seemed to approach this like any other game, which is probably for the best, but this is a nice way to ring in the Keefe era in Toronto.
