The Vegas Golden Knights series with the San Jose Sharks during the 1st round of the 2018 Stanley Cup Playoffs is one of the most memorable series in recent memory. Overall it was a fast and exciting series in general, with a quickly developing rivalry on full display, but that's not why it was so memorable.
It was memorable because of the controversy.
Down 3-0 in the 3rd period, the Sharks were awarded a 5-minute power-play that never should have been. Following a face-off, Cody Eakin delivered a cross-check to the chest of Joe Pavelski. It was a hard cross-check, but certainly not anything out of the ordinary when it comes to playoff hockey - and DEFINITELY not anything worth more than a two-minute minor.
Joe Pavelski ended up bleeding from the head, and Eakin ended up with the 5-minute major. As a result, the Sharks ended up with a 4-3 lead.
This was the preface for an eventual 5-4 Sharks OT victory that sent them to the 2nd round. Choked full of controversy, it's likely a series Knights fans would prefer to forget. One Sharks fan was doing his best to ensure that it wasn't going to be that easy.
Handing these out while attending a game in Vegas at T-Mobile Arena is some next level trolling. The Sharks themselves have delivered some trolling mastery at the expense of that one power-play, releasing their "Season Schedule Playlist" including Vegas games being assigned song titles "The Kill", "4 minutes", "Bad Blood", and "Tubthumping" (better known by it's catchy chorus "I get knocked down, but I get up again" likely in regards to Pavelski).
