If you’re not familiar with Sergei Bobrovsky’s alter ego, Officer Bobrovsky, let us give you a brief backstory of the No. 1 cop on the force.

The story dates back to Bobrovsky’s time with the Philadelphia Flyers. When SportsCentre host Jay Onrait heard the name Bobrovsky, he decided it sounded like a character from an old school police movie or television show. Each time Bobrovsky would make a highlight-reel save or let in a big goal, Onrait would yell the name 'BOBROVSKY!' as if the goalie was a police officer and Onrait was his police chief barking instructions his way. YOU’RE OFF THE CASE, BOBROVSKY!

But we’ve always wondered, does Bobrovsky know about the running gag? The answer is yes, which we confirmed on Wednesday afternoon when the Florida Panthers goalie left what we’re calling the Instagram comment of the year on a vacation photo of Onrait. Not only does Bobrovsky know about the gag, he is 100% in on it now and it’s everything we’ve ever dreamed of.

We see your comment, @SergeiBobrovsky! 👀👮♂️😂 #JayAndDan

Back on Halloween of 2013 we got a good indication that Bobrovsky was aware of the joke as well.

Onrait’s not the only one enjoying vacation time this summer, as we spotted Bobrovsky and Artemi Panarin having a high-kick dance party on a boat.

HE’S THE NO.1 COP ON THE FORCE!!!
