Jean-Gabriel Pageau was selected in the fourth round of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft by the Ottawa Senators.

The Ottawa native went on to spend the next eight seasons with the Ottawa Senators organization, suiting up for 428 games with the NHL club and 142 games with their AHL club, but  he was traded to the New York Islanders ahead of the 2020 NHL trade deadline.

On Thursday night, Pageau made his first trip back to Ottawa since the trade and one of his former teammates didn’t waste time trying to get into his head.

The Senators played a video tribute for Pageau during a commercial break in the first period, and immediately after it concluded the fans gave the former Senator a standing ovation and followed that up with “Pageau!” chants and a song.

In 428 regular season games with the Senators, Pageau scored 87 goals and 182 points, and added another 12 goals and 16 points in 35 postseason games.
