If you haven’t heard of Canadian baseball player Tyler O’Neill by now, just know that he might be one of the strongest dudes in baseball.
The Maple Ridge, B.C., product hit a walk-off homer to give the St. Louis Cardinals a 5-4 victory over the San Francisco Giants on Saturday afternoon.
O’Neill, a corner outfielder, took a 2-2 offering from Giants reliever Mark Melancon and smashed a 414-foot bomb over the wall in left field at Busch Stadium.
After the walk-off, the 23-year-old’s teammates completely ripped off his jersey, leaving his massive upper body exposed for the whole world to see. Checked out how yoked O’Neill is.
A true unit indeed. Before you make some sort of snide performance-enhancing joke, just know that O’Neill’s father is a former bodybuilder and was once Mr. Canada.
In his first season in the big leagues, O’Neill has slashed .252/.299/.515 with 9 dingers and 22 RBIs in only 123 at-bats over 55 games played.
