Montreal Canadiens rookie Jesperi Kotkaniemi has been turning more than a few heads this season. His craftiness and skill, showcased during one recent must see goal, has Habs fans feeling pretty good about the future.
It’s not just the fans that have been impressed by the young Finnish centre. Recently, one of the greatest bench bosses of all-time gave his take on Kotkaniemi.
Scotty knows what he’s talking about. He sits atop the all-time Wins list with 1,244 in the regular season and 223 in the playoffs. This, as you would expect, as led to some Stanley Cups. In fact, the only individual to hoist more Cups than Scotty was – you guessed it – Jean Beliveau (17).
While some fans are unhappy with comparing a rookie literally born in 2000 to one of the Habs all-time greats, Bowman commands so much respect it’s hard to argue against him.
