Basketball fans around the world are still trying to figure out what’s going on between the San Antonio Spurs and star forward Kawhi Leonard. This past season, the 26-year-old was limited to just 9 games during the regular season due to injuries and he never stepped onto the hardwood during the Spurs’ first round matchup against the Golden State Warriors.
Now that the team is officially in offseason mode fans in San Antonio are starting to panic that they might have seen the last of Leonard in a Spurs jersey, even though he still has one year left on his contract plus a player option for 2019. However, fans are starting to contribute to the cause now before it’s too late, including a San Antonio brewery that recently sent Leonard a personalized letter and offer.
Dear Kawhi,
We know things have kinda been weird this season. Lots of rumors, finger pointing, questioning loyalty and what not.
But the truth is, we really, really, really want things to go back to how they used to be. You know, how we never freaked out because you didn’t talk much? Or how we never questioned the silence or think that it was a sign that something was wrong?
So, here’s the deal. Let’s just forget about this past season. We want you back, and to prove it we’ll give you free pizza and beer for life.
No joke.
XOXO,
Freetail Bae
Freetail Brewing Co. is located in San Antonio and is known for their brews and pizza. They’re hoping that this personal letter offering a lifetime supply of free pizza and beer will be enough for Leonard to forget the past and remain with the Spurs going forward, but all we can do now is sit back and wait to see what happens during the offseason.
