Sabrina Ionescu’s time at Oregon was one for the history books and now she’s looking to do the same in the WNBA with the New York Liberty.
The 2020 1st overall pick joined #NBATogether with Ernie Johnson on Thursday afternoon and Ionescu told a fantastic story about how her and brother used to hustle grown ups for Slurpee money when they were kids.
Ionescu recalls being 10 or 11-years-old and teaming up with her brother at the local basketball court where they would hustle men on their lunch breaks for Slurpee money; and we totally respect it.
During her four years she became the NCAA’s all-time leader in career triple-doubles, the Pac-12 Conference all-time assists leader, and the only Division I player to record 2,000 points, 1,000 assists and 1,000 rebounds during their collegiate career.
