An emotional day for Sabrina Ionescu was capped off with Division I Basketball history. She became the first player in D-I to record 2000 points, 1000 rebounds and 1000 assists.
Ionescu reached this milestone on the same day of Kobe Bryant's memorial, where she was one of the speakers to deliver a eulogy. The Division-I star built a relationship with Kobe and Gianna Bryant after the father-daughter duo attended Oregon Duck games when they played in Los Angeles. Kobe Bryant was a huge advocate for women’s basketball and Ionescu is one of the player’s leading the charge.
It was an emotional day for Ionescu, but at its conclusion, she entered the Division I history books with ridiculous numbers. And she did it on 2.24.
