Ryan Reaves may have brought a spiteful smile to the face of some hockey fans when he delivered a crushing hit on Tom Wilson on Tuesday night. While most people wouldn’t wish harm upon anyone, Wilson has a certain way of pushing buttons that has led to a plethora of fines, suspensions, and sour feelings amongst the public.

Reaves received a game misconduct for the hit, but many believed that it was justified purely on the basis of who was on the receiving end. This prompted a memorabilia store to reach out to Reaves in hopes that the tough guy would take advantage of the memorable hit. They asked him to sign pictures of the incident, which Reaves did. Sounds a little Rougned Odor-esque, doesn't it?

Reaves reneged on the action though, and apparently realized that autographing pictures of an injured human, essentially claiming responsibility, is in bad taste. It doesn’t matter who the recipient of the hit was.

None of the pictures were sold, so Reaves may have escaped what may have been a bad look. It will be interesting to see what happens when the two tough guys from each of the reigning conference champions meet again. Unfortunately for those anxiously awaiting, it won’t be this year. Not unless the two teams defy all odds and meet again in the Cup final.
