Russell Westbrook is one of those players that isn’t afraid to speak his mind. He’s also no stranger to getting T’d up when he lets his talking go a little too far.
Heading into Wednesday’s game against the Memphis Grizzlies, the Houston Rockets point guard had already racked up 13 technical fouls on the season. That’s dangerous territory, as it left room for only three more before he receives an automatic one-game suspension from the league.
Make that two more, because Russell got T’d up again. While usually there’s a pretty good reason for it, this time we’re definitely on Westbrook’s side.
Is it possible Westbrook got called… just for being Westbrook?
In classic Westbrook fashion, he wasn’t about to let it go. The very next possession, he stole the ball and closed in for the breakaway dunk.
If the ref thought that his original celebration was too much, he definitely wouldn’t have liked this one. The whistle stayed in the pocket, though.
