Coronavirus has officially been declared an epidemic, further solidifying the seriousness of the issue. We’re seeing precautions being taken all over the place, including empty stadiums in an effort to contain the virus.
It’s a strange time for the sports world, one which is fueled by mass gatherings.
While concern continues to grow, some still seem to believe in their own invincibility. Rudy Gobert may have fallen into that category when he decided to jokingly touch every microphone during media availability. He may not feel quite like that anymore.
We want to be very clear, we don’t know the nature of Gobert’s illness. There is no reason to believe it is coronavirus as far as we know, but the unfortunate timing wasn’t lost on the basketball world.
