The Royal Canadian Mint is always coming out with special edition coins every single year and this year they’re going all out with the hockey themed coins since it’s the 100th anniversary of the NHL.
From the Toronto Maple Leafs 100th anniversary loonie to the limited edition quarter to honour the 125th anniversary of the Stanley Cup, they’ve released all sorts of different coins but none of them compare to their latest release.
On Wednesday, the Royal Canadian Mint unveiled an incredible brand new $50 coin that's shaped like the Stanley Cup.
The coin is legal tender and comes in a protective case just like the actual Stanley Cup does.
We doubt anyone who purchases this rare coin will actually go out and use it, especially since it retails for $359.95 CAD, but it’s a piece that any hockey collector or coin collector would love to add to their collection.
