Manny Machado isn't the only superstar the San Diego Padres brought to the field at Petco Park this season.
Caricature mascots of Ron Burgundy and his all-star crew of the Channel 4 news team were out at the Padres home opener to compete in a race around the warning track on Friday night.
The mascots of Burgundy, Champ Kind, Brian Fantana and Brick Tamland were pretty spot-on, albeit a little creepy looking.
Of course, Burgundy, being the leader of the news crew, ran away victorious.
Per the Padres, the collaboration was put together by Paramount Pictures, Will Ferrell, David Koechner, Paul Rudd and Steve Carrell. More races are slated to be in store, so for all you Veronica Corningstone fans out there, perhaps she'll be a participant in the Anchorman race down the line.
Now they just somehow have to wheel a prompter out and make him start reading a newscript to get him distracted away from the race, because we all know Ron Burgundy will read anything off a prompter.
