As a radio personality, we all know Jeff O’Neill to be one of the funnier dudes in sports. But it’s less common to hear one of his former teammates share a story from their playing days together.

The Leafs are taking on the Hurricanes on Tuesday night and Carolina head coach Rod’ Brind’Amour felt like sharing a knee-slapper about his old pal O'dog. From the sounds of it, our loveable OverDrive host wasn’t the easiest guy to travel with. Brind’Amour, who played with O’Neill for five seasons, recalled what he would do on a plane if the team experienced turbulence.

Wouldn’t have wanted to be a pilot for any of those plane rides!!!!

The reasoning behind Brind’Amour’s story stemmed from an incident involving the Hurricanes during their journey from Long Beach, California back home to Raleigh-Durham. Their 737 was forced to make an emergency landing in Tulsa, Oklahoma after a noxious smell filled the cabin. No one was harmed during the process.

Brind'Amour discusses Canes' emergency landing, remembers flying with O-Dog

At this point, we’re sure the 42-year-old O’Neill has come to realize that turbulence is not in fact caused by the pilots. Gotta love O’Dog!
