Robin Lehner came into the 2020-21 season on a fresh new contract, primed and ready to take over the Vegas Golden Knights crease. It hasn’t quite panned out that way, after a tough start to the year and a subsequent injury have derailed it thus far.

After a few missed weeks of action, it looks like Lehner is getting close to a return. We weren’t quite sure what the issue was for Lehner, as the nature of hockey injuries is extremely secretive, but on Wednesday he revealed that a concussion had been what was keeping him out.

Unfortunately, the only reason why we found out Lehner’s injury is because he was dealing with some false accusations from frustrated fans.

It's too bad that a stigma like the one around mental health forces Lehner to reveal something he wouldn’t have otherwise. It also highlights an important issue; even if his time away from the team was for mental health reasons, that’s okay.

We’re happy that Panda is getting close to being back in the crease, and a lot of support has been shown since he revealed the concussion. Lehner has never been shy to show a little candor, and that’s part of the reason why he’s become such a well-liked player.
