For many of us, going to McDonalds' to snag a Happy Meal and the latest toy was an adventure in itself for years growing up.
There were so many cool toys that definitely were worth its buck. But one of the best ones may have been one you even forgot you owned…
The NHL Muppet Mania plush dolls.
You know the ones. They all sported “Muppets Conference” jerseys with their names on the back and wore skates, helmets, and had sticks.
Being offered for a limited time within 1995, there were four character options for people to collect: Kermit, Miss Piggy, Fozzie, and Animal.
While Fozzie is rocking the pads and stepping up as goalie of the Muppet Conference, Animal is going full barbarian mode and has his blades wrapped around his bare feet while the rest of the crew have skates.
There was even a commercial for the plushies that just SCREAM mid 90’s vibes.
Collecting Muppets NHL stickers from McDonald’s food packaging similar to how Monopoly is currently played, customers could win Bauer Inline rollerblades, a Nestle Crunch bar, $100,000, or…
A Mercury Sable Wagon.
A hockey family’s dream car. Imagine rolling up to the rink in the Sable Wagon you just won from McDonald’s? Power moves ONLY!
McDonald’s Happy Meal toys used to be absolutely elite and if we can take one thing away from the Muppets Mania NHL line, is that integrating a Muppets Conference may be beneficial for the 2021 season. We’d love to see it.
