Over the course of his 13-year professional hockey career, Ray Emery touched the hearts of a lot of different people. From teammates, to fans, and even media members, anyone that shared a moment with Emery felt their hearts ache when Sunday’s new broke that the former NHL goaltender had drowned in Hamilton.
Hundreds of tweets came pouring through various social media channels from former teammates, coaches, trainers and friends.
On Monday, TSN’s Cabral Richards AKA “Cabbie” sent out a tweet to remember Ray when came “by the crib to talk sneakers for hours” on Cabbie’s podcast back in the summer of 2014. In the podcast’s description, Cabbie and Ray talked about Ray meeting Mike Tyson and his love for boxing, former U.S. President Barack Obama, the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, and much more.
