Bill Vinovich is by no means a household name, but a group of BYU fans were still able to spot him out as the referee that failed to call pass interference against the Los Angeles Rams late in the fourth quarter in the NFC Championship game.
Vinovich happens to be a ref in college basketball and was brought in to officiate a BYU and St. Mary's matchup on Thursday in Utah at the Marriott Center.
On Friday, a video surfaced of a fan asking Vinovich if "there was pass interference" during a timeout.
Camera crews were also able to spot a sign in the crowd saying "Bill, don't screw these Saints."
According to Jarom Jordan, a radio host who covers athletics at the school. Vinovich asked the students to stop flashing the sign.
Fans chanted his first name after a call against the hometown crowd was reversed in their favour.
Vinovich has referred in the NFL from 2001-2006 and from 2012-present.
Football fans and players on the Saints won't be forgetting the non-call anytime soon, as evidenced by defensive end Cameron Jordan taking a shot at the ref while arriving at the Pro Bowl on Sunday.
