Major league locker rooms already have all the bells and whistles that baseball players could find themselves needing, but how could you step it up a notch?
Since their usual locker room set-up would make it difficult for the team to observe social distancing guidelines, the Boston Red Sox are instead converting luxury suites at Fenway Park into makeshift locker rooms for each of their players, with two players to a suite.
Since these suites obviously can’t be offered to fans this season, this is definitely a neat way to reappropriate them for player use.
Access from the suite to the field is probably going to be a little more annoying than it would be from the locker room, but hey, these are unusual circumstances.
We’ll see if this is an idea that will catch on with other teams as they determine their own best practices for navigating the return of baseball.
