The Reading Royals are trying something new with their Veterans Day jerseys and they might just change the jersey game entirely if all goes well.
On Thursday afternoon, the Philadelphia Flyers’ ECHL affiliate shared a promo for the commemorative jerseys they’ll wear on November 17 when they host the Newfoundland Growlers, and they’re unlike anything we’ve ever seen before.
It’s hard to get the full effect of the jersey through a computer screen, but fans who attend the team’s annual Veterans Appreciation Game will receive special 3D glasses that will make the jerseys pop.
We’ve seen all sorts of special edition uniforms over the years, but we’ve never seen a jersey with a 3D design. Later this year the Allen Americans, the ECHL affiliate of the Minnesota Wild, will also wear a special edition 3D jersey in December for Christmas.
