Future Hall of Famer and NBA analyst Paul Pierce has landed himself in hot water win Raptors fans on numerous occasions this postseason. And once again, after another loss, he's once again been quick to put the team on the hot seat..
The 41-year-old joined Scott Van Pelt to discuss the Raps' Game 2 loss and described the team as ‘fractured’ after surrendering 18 straight points to open the half. Toronto nearly came back in the fourth quarter but ultimately fell 109-104.
He wasn’t done there either…
Pierce has had some… questionable predictions during the playoffs so far. After the Celtics went up 1-0 over the Bucks in the Eastern Conference Semifinals, Pierce went on to say the series was “over” before the Bucks went on to win four in a row. Then, after two wins to open up the Eastern Conference Final, Pierce said “The Bucks got this” over the Raps. Once again, the other team went on to win four in a row. Pierce did take the Raptors to win in six, but calling the team fractured after one loss might be seen as an overstatement by some…
Toronto has lost back-to-back games just twice this postseason and will attempt to prove that they’re not “fractured” following Sunday night’s loss. It really wouldn’t be a good look for Pierce if Kawhi & co. could find a way to finish on top Wednesday night.
