When it comes to sports, no professional league boasts better heads of hair than the NHL.

From Ottawa Senators captain Erik Karlsson to Las Vegas Golden Knights forward William Karlsson, there’s no shortage of flow on hockey’s biggest stage.

When fans hear the term, the first thing that likely comes to mind are the players. But there are a couple of coaches from a select few teams that under-the-radar have incredible hair. We examined all 32 bench bosses and identified the five with the best flow.

5) Peter Laviolette

Lavs’ hair isn’t quite what it was during his early days with the Carolina Hurricanes, but he’s still got it going on up top. The 52-year-old’s can typically be seen gelled back and there’s not much grey to be seen either.

... Yet.

4) Travis Green

The new man in Vancouver enters the league with one of the best loafs in the NHL (yes, that’s right, we just used the word loaf to describe hair). During his playing days, Green did’t exactly have a clean cut like he has today. Check out the wicked mullet he used to rock.

Nice.

3) Dave Hakstol

Philadelphia Flyers head coach Dave Hakstol might have the cleanest cut of all, and some would probably argue it’s perfect when you consider how well combed it always seems to be. It also consists of a tiny bit of grey on the sides, which is very suiting for his age 49. Not quite the best, but pretty darn close.

2) Glen Gulutzan

This guy’s hair is always styled to perfection. Not all of these coaches necessarily need product to make their flow look great, but that doesn’t take away from how relatively awesome the Flames’ head coach’s looks on a regular basis. Gulutzan sits behind our oldest skipper on the list.

1) Mike Babcock

Are you surprised? At 54 years of age, Babcock easily takes the cake for having the best coach flow in the league. It’s tame, but still has some of those hockey waves that even players dream about having. There’s an argument to be made that Babs has better hair than any of his players on the Toronto Maple Leafs.

That wraps up our rankings of the five best coach flows in the NHL. Do you agree with our list? Let us know @BarDown.
