Raheem Mostert has had a whirlwind of a year. After seeming like the 3rd or 4th option in a run-heavy San Francisco 49ers attack, Mostert has earned his way to the top of the depth chart. He does so by combining game-breaking speed with vision and tackle breaking, all the qualities you want in a running back.
Saying that, heβs been banged up all year long. Just returning from a multi-week absence on Sunday, Mostert found his way to the end zone where he outraced the Rams to the pylon.
Following the game, Mostert touched on how hard itβs been to make the sacrifices to be there. Mainly, having to leave his family behind.
While itβs tough to leave the fam behind, Mostert is a part of a scrappy 49ers squad that has battle injury all year long. One year off a Super Bowl appearance, the 49ers are looking to continue surprising the league and defying the odds.
An upset win over a division rival in the Los Angeles Rams certainly helps that cause.
