Playoff hockey is intense for fans, too, and over the course of a series, there are a lot of things fans say to players on the other team to heckle them or try and get under their skin.

You obviously have to be in the arena to do this and Predators fans definitely have no fear when it comes to chirps and chants directed at opposing players (especially goaltenders).

Sunday night, for example, this Predators fan by the name of Ben McGreevy tried to get under Dustin Byfuglien's skin all night long with some playful chirps.  What Ben didn't know was that Byfuglien's parents were sitting right behind him.

As far as encounters with a player's parents go, this has to be one of the best.

After Ben found out Dustin's stepdad and mom were sitting behind him, they continued chatting throughout the game making the encounter that much cooler.

For those that don't know, Byfuglien's stepdad is Dale Smedsmo and he played four games in the NHL for the Leafs.

Once Ben's tweet went viral, someone asked him to ask Byfuglien's mom what she fed him growing up which led to this answer:

You never know who's sitting behind you at a game, but in this case that was a great thing because it led to a really cool playoff moment off the ice.
